ROLE DESCRIPTION


The Kit Room Technician role is the perfect entry level position for anyone starting out who wants a career on set within the Camera Department, or you may even be a really be a mega gear-head who wants to look after and play with kit all day, making sure it’s all running and maintained as perfectly as possible. You’ll be working closely with our Directors Max and Emmy and the rest of our Kitroom team, maintaining and checking in and out all of the equipment on our inventory in between its time out in the field working on jobs. You’ll be learning the complete ins and outs of every lens, camera, lens control system, video transmitter, monitor and any other piece of gear that lives with us. Down the line there will be the opportunity to gain on set experience working as a Camera Trainee on the floor with Emmy and Alfie, our wet hire team, in addition and alongside to your work in the Kitroom. This is where you will be able to fuse together your technical working knowledge of all of the gear with the practical application of that technical knowledge to see how each piece of gear is used and handled on the floor as it is working each day on set. We are committed for this role to continue to be the perfect entry level role for anyone starting out in the industry who is looking towards a career either on-set in camera, or for someone who may be interested in working in Kitroom and in equipment maintenance in the long term. You must be at least 21 years of age and have a UK driving license.



THE ROLE


  • Delivering and collecting equipment to jobs
  • Collecting and returning cross hires from other rental companies
  • Checking equipment in and out prior and after jobs to make sure all equipment is returned
  • Testing and inspecting equipment for damage
  • Maintaining our high standards of equipment cleanliness and presentation
  • Opportunity for set experience as a Camera Trainee


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR


  • Someone over 21 with a UK Driving Licence
  • Experience driving vans is a plus
  • Great attention to detail
  • Passion cameras and lenses
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Good verbal and written communication 
  • Comfortable using email, Gsuite & other communication tools
  • A team player, with the ability to work well in a busy and varied role 
  • A positive, Can-do get-it-done attitude
