The Assistant Kitroom Manager plays a key role in keeping the kitroom running smoothly. Instrumentally, you will be a direct support for the Kitroom Manager in managing the daily kitroom operations. You will be responsible for managing consumables & inventory, ingesting new kit, assist with lens maintenance, and ensure paperwork and communication across departments is clear and organised. You’ll provide technical support during preps while maintaining a professional and friendly working environment.
A large portion of the kitroom admin you will be responsible for is the missing and damaged equipment processes. This requires liaising with bookings & clients, as well as coordinating repairs and servicing for any kit that is damaged.
This is a position suited to someone sociable who lives and breathes film gear, wanting to take a step up into a management position. A UK Driving License is not required but is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the missing & damaged equipment process - liaising with bookings & clients regarding ongoing issues.
- Coordinate repairs, servicing, spare parts, and replacement equipment
- Manage consumables stock levels and reordering
- Provide technical support and Foster a professional, friendly, and supportive environment during preps
- Assist with lens maintenance
- Organise accurate kit room paperwork and administrative records
- Work with the Kitroom manager and bookings team to create clear daily meeting notes and communicate operational updates effectively
- Contribute to continuous improvement of kit room organisation and workflow
- Support the Kitroom Manager in overseeing daily kit room operations
- Take responsibility for managing the kit room in the Kitroom Manager’s absence
- Support HR processes and attend relevant meetings as required
- Able to manage inventory and ingest new kit within the system
- Occasionally, check in and out kit for jobs
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong technical understanding of digital & analogue cinema camera systems, lenses, and accessories
- Experience in a camera rental or kit room environment
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
- Highly organised and excellent attention to detail
- Practical problem solver with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable using inventory management systems
- Leadership ability with a collaborative mindset
- Driving license not required but preferred
